Today as been my first complete day in Hebron.
Yesterday was spent travelling and passing security checks, once I had arrived however, 9 hours after I had left, I checked in and then met up with the people I had met previously. We smoked a hookah and chatted.
After getting picked up at 10, we spent the majority of the day travelling around to various people and clients of Shaban's. We however, did have plenty of time to discuss and consider plans for the next 18 days that I'll be spending here. What has turned out to be a definite is to head down the country to Jericho, cross the border into Jordan and spend a day or two at the dead sea, exploring its surroundings.
This will be my first trip to Jordan, and I won't forget any of it, as I will be interrogated in the US, because you know; standard. Also on the table is the idea to cross Israel and head to Gaza, this might not be possible though, as Shaban would need Israeli permission to travel through the country; and of course the security risks within the Gaza Strip.
At the moment I am struggling with the continuation of my original series "Shoe Factories of Hebron", this is due to the fact that the shoe factories are on a decline because of economic restrictions, as well as school holidays.
